Tel Aviv rallied late to top Katon 42-37, while Ra’anana easily defeated Modiin 40-16 in Netball action this week.

Tel Aviv stayed close throughout its match with Katamon but was unable to clinch the deal until the final period. Katamon led by a single point at the end of each of the first two periods, 11-10 and 22-21. Then it created some breathing space for a 30-27 edge going into the last frame.

However, Tel Aviv turned it on at both ends of the court to claim the victory. With the win Tel Aviv maintains a commanding nine-point lead at the top of the standings over second-place Ra’anana.

The loss leaves Katamon in third place with 19 points, one ahead of idle Jerusalem Mercaz.

Ra’anana, meanwhile, had little trouble with Modi’in as it went up by 20 by halftime. The only bright spot for Modi’in, which remains winless in six games, is that it played relatively even in the second half.
