Last year’s defending champs, the Briut Modi’in Thundermuffins, continued their dominance of the AFI by running their record to 10-0 this week, defeating a feisty Toras Chaim team to reclaim the top spot in the league.

The Thundermuffins, led by last year’s MVP Dani Eastman, haven’t lost a game since Big Blue beat them by a point on December 20 of last year.

In other games, the Lev HaTorah Leviathans got two touchdowns each from Josh Jacobson and Ben Massey to overcome a pick-6 from Alex Hirt and defeat Joe’s Eagles. Other two-game winners this week included Chisis, CCJ, DEC, the Imrei Cobras, Pizzeria Efrat, Mash-ters and The Startup Center. Abbey Locksmiths and Launch 3 split a pair of games, as did Freezee and Team Yachad. NIcodrops Vapor beat and tied Ourcrowd, while Doghouse and The Monstars split. Other teams to share the spoils this week were Sakar SYs, The Raiders, GWC and Mercaz, who picked up two points out of a possible four. Chabad played four times this week, splitting two games with Mevasseret on Friday before losing a pair to Mash-ters on Saturday night.

Five still undefeated in Women’s AFI

Through the fourth week of competition, there are five undefeated teams in the Women’s AFI Flag Football league: Yachad Midmo, Team Famous, Big Blue, Mishaan Plumbers and New York Bake Shop. Only two of those teams were in action this past week, as Team Famous and Big Blue both recorded shutouts. In other action, Michdonalds beat Midknights, the Coney Island Warriors defeated Harova, Crossroads took out DB Beasts, Lindenbombers beat Sharfmans, and the Wildkatz and Jays played to a 19-19 tie.
