Where to Watch a Live Stream of Barcelona vs. Chelsea During Israel Memorial Day

Haaretz presents but a few options for Israeli sports fans relegated to watching the highly anticipated Barcelona- Chelsea match online.

This year, Israeli sports fans were deprived from one of the season's hottest soccer tournaments, after the scheduling of both legs of UEFA Champion's League semi-final matches coincided with national days of remembrance.

Last week, Israel's sports channels refused to play the first leg of semi-final matches since one of the games coincided with Holocaust Remembrance Day. And, again, on Tuesday, Israeli sports fans are confounded with the same issue, with Memorial Day coinciding with the soccer tournament's second leg of semi-final games.

As a result, below can be found several links leading to alternative, web-based viewing sources for all those deprived of their Champion's League addiction.

The first option – the official one – is that UEFA website, where, as opposed to some free options, you will have to pay a one-time fee of 2.10 Euros in order to watch Chelsea fight it out with Barcelona

However, dozens of thousands of Israelis also chose to watch the game on the many free sites, such as LiveGol.co.il, Sportlemon.tv, and Wiziwig.tv.

Another option is the sports section of al-Jazeera's website, which holds the rights to air Champion's League games. While manu computers in Israel are blocked from accessing the site, a simple appeal to the website's speedy costumer service will yield an explanation as to how to unlock the broadcast for Middle Eastern states.

It is not possible, however, to purchase a single game on al-Jazeera's website, leaving the possibility to pay for one month's access for $10 and access for an entire year, for $50.

Last week, internet providers reported a dramatic spike in internet use during the first semi-final leg on Holocaust Remembrance Day, with some citing a rise of dozens of percentage points. Media giant Bezeq, in fact, reported a rise of 25 percent.

However, officials at many internet providers said they doubted whether the same kind of traffic could be expected for Tuesday's screening of the second semi-final leg, which, as mentioned, coincides with Israel's Memorial Day.
