The Israeli national under-21 soccer team is facing its Norwegian counterpart in the opening match of the Euro 2013 Championship – the first major soccer tournament to be held in Israel.

Ahead of kick-off, there was good news for Israeli coach Guy Luzon, with news that influential captain Nir Biton passed a late fitness test and would be available to play in the match.

3rd minute: Norway comes close to opening the scoring, when a free kick from the right wing causes all kinds of problems for the Israeli defense. Eventually the ball is scrambled away to safety.

8th minute: Norway enjoyinf the bulk of the possession in the opening minutes, without posing any serious threat to the Israeli goal.

12th minute: Israeli goalkeeper Boris Kleyman pulls off a fine diving save to prevent Jo Inge Berget opening the scoring.

16th minute: Goal for Israel! Nir Biton slots home from the penalty spot after Omar Elabdellaoui was adjudged to have fouled Omri Ben Harush. A great start for the host nation.

23rd minute: Goal for Norway! Marcus Pederson is given too much space in the Israeli penalty box, and scores with a low, powerful shot that Kleyman can't reach. So far, an open and free-flowing game.

38th minute: Israeli coach Guy Luzon forced into early substitution, as Marwan Kabha is replaced by Ofir Krieff.

44th minute: Red card for Norway! Hedenstad dismissed for professional foul on Israel's Mohammad Kalibat.

Half-time: All square at halft-time in Netanya, but Israel has a double advantage - 13,000 home fans and a one-man advantage, following the ejection of the Norwegian defender.

71st minute: Goal for Israel! Alon Turgeman restores Israel's advantage from the same spot that Norway equalized. Can the blue-and-whites hold on for a famous victory?

90th minute: Goal for Norway! Disaster for Israel as Harmeet Singh scores a late equalizer for the visitors. 2-2 and just seconds left to play.
