Inter’s hot streak continued last week with yet another historic win, defeating the league’s third-placed team Hapoel Ramat Yisrael 1-0 with an injury-time goal.
The visitors, who had led the league for much of the season, were beaten for the second time by Israel’s first all-olim side. Ramat Yisrael dominated possession in the first half but couldn’t find a way past Inter’s sturdy defense.
In the second half, Ramat Yisrael’s best chance came five minutes from the end but Inter captain Sam Sank, in his 100th game for the club, headed a goalward bound chance off the line.
As the game entered stoppage time, Faris Abdulrasul intelligently took a quick throw on the right to release Oded Puzis, who delivered a cross into Yuval Levi, who in turn placed the ball home.
The win puts Inter two points behind Ramat Yisrael, in third place.
Inter Aliyah’s B squad also enjoyed success, beating Moldova 4-1 in the International Football League of Israel.
The team began strong, going up 3-0 within 20 minutes. After 5 minutes, a good header by Yusuke Miyake found Rafael Landes, who put in the perfect cross for Tal Zrayato’s header home.
