Yossi Benayoun accepted an 18-month contract at Queens Park Rangers on Monday night, after being persuaded by QPR manager Harry Redknapp to join the club, currently second in England's second-tier Championship.
Benayoun, 33, who was released by Chelsea at the beginning of the season, was courted by Spanish side Malaga before opting for QPR. The Israel international has been training with Maccabi Haifa in order to maintain his fitness levels.
Benayoun made his impact on the Premier League after joining West Ham United from Spanish side Santander in 2005. He scored eight goals and provided nine assists in 63 league appearances for the London club before moving on to Liverpool, where he spent three successful seasons. After falling out with manager Rafa Benitez, Benayoun moved on to Chelsea, where he failed to make his mark, recording only 14 league appearances in two and a half seasons. He was loaned to Arsenal and West Ham, and was released at the end of last season.
