Do not swim in the Mediterranean Sea off Herzliya until further notice, the Health Ministry warned on Monday, after a sewage main broke and contaminated the water.
The Herzliya water corporation stated that fixing the pipe collapse would take several days.
Affected beaches include Hanifrad, Hagolshim, Zevulun, Hasharon, Nof Yam and Acadia South, central and north.
The sewage pipe collapse happened east of Route 20, which runs between Hayarkon Park and the Ayalon freeway.
Some would-be swimmers had been avoiding the sea anyway because of the usual summer influx of jellyfish, albeit not particularly dangerous ones. The nomadica jellyfish normally swam about this time of year, and while impressively large, their sting is fairly mild.
