Senior officers in the Israel Defense Forces have met in recent days with their counterparts at U.S. Central Command, aiming to tighten the links between the two militaries in case Iran retaliates after last week’s assassination of its top nuclear scientist, sources say.

Senior Iranian officials have been making threats since last Friday, suggesting that they will avenge the killing of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh, who was assassinated outside Tehran.
