The three suspects are said to have covered their faces and robbed the security guard, and when he resisted their advances they wounded him, stole his gun, and fled, according to police reports.
Police are now on scene accompanied by helicopters searching for suspects.
Paramedics and MDA paramedics arrived on scene and treated the school security guard, who was in his fifties. "When we arrived on scene we saw a 56-year-old man fully conscious near a bus stop," said Avi Amouyal, an MDA paramedic who treated him. "He sat on a bench as bystanders tried to help."
According to Amouyal, the victim sustained mild to moderate bruising to his upper body, and paramedics put him in intensive care in the ambulance during the evacuation.
The guard was evacuated for medical treatment.
