The two have been together for over eight years after they met when Tarantino was in Israel to promote his 2009 film Inglorious Basterds, about a Jewish French girl's revenge on the Nazis and a band of Jewish American soldiers behind enemy lines.
"We're super happy and excited," Pik told Israel's Ynet news site. "She's thrilled," a friend told the Walla news site, that first reported the two's engagement.
Tarantino and Pik were in Israel together in 2016 for the Jerusalem Film Festival, where a newly restored 35-millimeter print of his "Pulp Fiction" was screened. Following their joint visit, reports in gossip magazines said the two were at odds over the question of whether to have children or not.
"He wants [to be married] for a few years and then have children. She wants a baby now. She doesn’t want to wait," a columnist for the New York Post's Page Six reported.
