A Palestinian woman was shot and critically wounded by a Border Police force near the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron on Wednesday after she had attempted to stab one of the soldiers
On Monday, a 16-year-old a Palestinian tried to stab border police officers in Jerusalem’s Old City. The teen was shot by police and moderately wounded.
The incident near Herod’s Gate, in the east of the Old City. Police said the teenager, an East Jerusalem resident, tried to stab the policemen on duty with a knife, but did not manage to hurt them. He then fled, at which point the policemen opened fire.
Despite being wounded, the young man did not stop and eventually ran into a nearby house. The policemen arrested him there, along with the owner of the house and another person they suspected of assisting the teenager.
On October 18, a Palestinian was shot and killed near the West Bank city of Tul Karm after an attempted stabbing attack. The Defense Ministry said guards at the Te’enim checkpoint initially tried to arrest him when he ran at them with a knife, but when he didn’t stop, they opened fire.
The day before that incident, a 20-year-old man from East Jerusalem was shot and seriously wounded by Border Police officers near Ramallah after what police suspect was an attempt to run them over while they were making arrests in the area. Earlier in October, a man opened fire at an army outpost near Tul Karm from a passing car, though nobody was hurt.
