According to reports from the Palestinian Prisoners Administration, A-Salhi was shot in the liver and thigh by live fire during clashes, and sent to the intensive care unit. Processions began in the Deheisheh refugee camp following the announcement of his death.
If his body is released this evening, a funeral will be held in the Deheisheh refugee camp.
The chairperson of the Palestinian Prisoners Administration, Issa Kraka, said that Israel is responsible for his death, and that he was shot from close range while being arrested, for no reason.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine published an obituary today, noting that A-Salhi was active in the organization's military wing, the Abu Ali Mustafa Battalion. The obituary said that A-Salhi was shot while refusing arrest by the IDF in the refugee camp. The organization noted that A-Salhi was always present at Bethlehem-area clashes with the IDF.
