Palestinian Shot Dead Trying to Stab Israeli Soldiers in West Bank

Initial reports say attack on Israeli soldiers takes place near the West Bank village of Tuqu

A Palestinian man attempted to stab Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, according to initial reports. The attacker was shot and killed, emergency medical services have said.

The attack took place at a checkpoint near the West Bank village of Tuqu, near the settlement of Tekoa, in the Gush Etzion settlement bloc south of Jeruslaem. No Israeli casualties have been reported.

The Palestinian Health Ministry identified the slain Palestinian as Mohammad Khasin, a 26-year-old resident of Tuqu. Clashes at the scene have since ended.
