Palestinian Shot After Attempting to Stab Israelis in the West Bank

No-one else was injured in the incident.

Israeli security forces gather at the site of a reported stabbing attack at the Huwara checkpoint near the West Bank city of Nablus, on December 27, 2015.

A Palestinian attempted to stab a soldier, near a military base in the West Bank on Sunday, and was shot dead.

No-one else was injured in the incident.

The last four months have seen near daily Palestinian attacks that have killed 24 Israelis and an American student. Some 145 Palestinians have been killed, of which about 100 are said by Israel to have been attackers. The rest died in clashes.

Israel says the violence is being fanned by a Palestinian campaign of lies and incitement spread by religious and political leaders and on social media. The Palestinians say it is rooted in anger at decades of living under Israeli occupation.
