Columbus set to discover Israeli dance piece

A dance piece entitled 'Nothing II,' created by artist Ohad Fishof and choreographer Noa Zuk, will premier on November 16 as part of the Dance Uptown festival at the Wexner Center in Columbus, Ohio. The 30-minute piece was made for the Ohio State University Department of Dance at the conclusion of a three- month residency. Zuk danced in the Batsheva dance company from 1997 to 2009, where she also tried her hand at choreography. Fishof began his artistic career as a musician with the Israeli rock band Nosei Hamigbaat and later went on to compose music for dance, performance and art. (Shir Hacham )

London-based musician Spigel back in TA

London-based musician Malka Spigel will give two performances in Tel Aviv's Ozen Bar on November 21 and 22, to launch her first album "Every Day Is Like The First Day." Spigel will be accompanied by her husband Colin Newman (of the Wire band ), who collaborated with her on the album. Spigel is the former solo singer and bass of the Israeli rock band Minimal Compact and also a former member of Githead, a musical collaboration including Newman, electronic musician Robin Rimbaud and Maz Franken.
