Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu landed in New Delhi on Sunday morning kicking off a six-day visit to mark the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations with India. The trip follows a visit to Israel about six months ago by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Netanyahu's visit will focus on business ties between the two countries, and the prime minister's entourage will include about 130 Israeli businesspeople representing some 100 companies. The Israeli prime minister will hold several meetings with Modi as well as with Indian President Ram Nath Kovind.
After landing in India, Netanyahu proceeded directly to the dedication ceremony of a square in New Delhi named after the city of Haifa. His stay will include a visit to the grave of the leader of the Indian movement for independence from Britain, Mahatma Gandhi, a visit the Taj Mahal in Agra and the Sabarmati Ashram in Gujarat, where Gandhi lived for 12 years.
He will also attend a memorial ceremony for the victims of the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai, targets of which included the Taj Mahal Hotel and the local Chabad house. After the ceremony, Netanyahu will meet with leaders of the Indian Jewish community.
