Actors Jack Black, Morgan Freeman, Natasha Lyonne and other celebrities, including Queen Noor of Jordan, are voicing their support of the nuclear deal with Iran in a new video released on Tuesday.
The celebrities in the video urge Americans to contact their members of Congress and encourage them to back the deal, which would be up for a vote in September.
Without a nuclear deal, "ultimately we could be forced into a war with Iran another dangerous drawn out and expensive conflict in the Middle East with many lives lost," Freeman says in the three-minute video, produced by the Global Zero, a group advocating for the elimination of nuclear weapons.
“Do me a favor, OK, don’t let some hot-headed member of Congress screw this up,” says Lyonne, who stars on “Orange is the New Black.”
“Playing politics with our national security is actually not all that funny,” Black says.
The video also includes actors Farshad Farahat, former CIA agent Valerie Plame and retired U.S. Ambassador Thomas Pickering.
Amon the members of Global Zero are former Israeli officials, such as Ephraim Halevy, a former head of the Mossad, and Shlomo Ben Ami, a former minister, according to the group's website.
