The Israeli military shot a Palestinian man on Thursday at Gush Etzion Junction in the West Bank after he reportedly attempted to carry out a stabbing attack.

According to a statement released by the army, after a preliminary investigation it appears that a soldier at the site shot the Palestinian man in the legs and arrested him.

No one other than the assailant was wounded in the incident.

About two weeks ago, the Shin Bet Security Service said that they had arrested some 50 members of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, including three people involved in the terrorist attack that killed Israeli teenager Rina Shnerb near the settlement of Dolev.
