Israel Reportedly Attacked Iran's Main Production Site for Military Drones Last Month

An Israeli attack had reportedly hit Iran's main production and storage site for military drones last month, the New York Times reported Thursday.

According to a senior official, who spoke to the Times under condition of anonymity, six suicide drones had crashed into the site destroying dozens of Iran's drones. Haaretz reported on Monday that the aerial strike in February in Iran had caused heavy damage to Tehran's drone network, with estimations saying hundreds of drones were destroyed.
Iranian officials have not confirmed the site was used for drones, the report said.
On Sunday, Iran's Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for a missile attack against what it called Israeli "strategic centers" in Irbil after Iraqi security officials have claimed the ballistic missiles were launched toward a U.S. consulate there.

“We believe this building in Irbil was a center for coordinating and planning operations against Iran’s national security and several malicious activities against Iran happened from there,” Hossein Dalirian, an analyst affiliated with the Iran's paramilitary Revolutionary Guards, said in an interview.

According to the report, a senior U.S. official said that the structure served as an Israeli intelligence outpost and training site. A senior Biden administration official, however, refuted that claim, saying the U.S. believes that the building that was hit was only a civilian residence.
