Attorney General Avichai Mendelblit recently closed a case against a junior judge who was suspected of committing sexual offenses. The details of the case and the judge’s identity were banned for publication, the Justice Ministry said last week.

An investigation of the judge was opened a few months ago after a complaint was filed against him and he was questioned under caution. But Mendelblit decided, at the recommendation of the police and state prosecutor, to close the case because no crime appeared to have been committed.

This is the second judge who was questioned this year on suspicion of sexual offenses. In June Mendelblit closed a case against a judge suspected of sexual offenses and violence against his underage daughter, due to lack of evidence.
