The maximum price of gasoline at self-service pumps in Israel will drop by 11 agorot a liter at midnight Thursday, to 6.48 shekels ($1.75), including the value-added tax.

The new maximum price at full-service pumps will be 6.69 per liter, representing a 21 agorot per liter premium above the self-service price.

The government sets the ceiling for gas prices, and most stations do not offer a discount.

The maximum retail price is adjusted monthly, in accordance with prevailing fuel prices in Europe.
