Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's 28-day mandate to form a coalition expired Tuesday at midnight. The ball of Israel's political stalemate is back in President Reuven Rivlin's court.

Rivlin will have three days to consult with representatives of all parties and decide whether to tap any other lawmaker to form a government.
