Eurovision winner Netta Barzilai made her first appearance on American television on Tuesday, performing her hit song 'Toy' on NBC's Today Show.
Israel won the 2018 Eurovision contest with Netta Barzilai's song beating Cyprus and Austria in the popular vote. This was the first time since 1998 that Israel won the song contest, and fourth time overall.
Co-written by Doron Medalie and Stav Berger, "Toy" amassed over 85 million views on YouTube, hit the No. 1 spot on Spotify Israel and charted throughout Europe.
The song became a source of controversy after the writers of “Toy” received a letter from Universal claiming copyright infringement, due to apparent similarity between “Toy” and the hit “Seven Nation Army,” performed by The White Stripes.
