Fiat Teams Up With Israeli Designer on New 500

Israeli-born and London-based industrial designer helped work on the special edition of the Fiat 500, of which he has been a lifelong fan.

Fiat, the Italian carmaker, has named a special edition car after renowned Israeli-born and London-based industrial designer and architect Ron Arad, New Car Net posted on its website on Monday.

The new model is called the Limited Edition Fiat 500 Ron Arad. Arad, a reportedly lifelong fan of the original 1957 Fiat 500, helped develop the new model, according to New Car Net. Fiat will produce 200 such cars for the U.K. market, all of them available only in metallic black with white graphics.

In 2013, Arad exhibited in Turin, Italy, and in Holon, Israel, a work comprising of six compressed original Fiat 500 cars, which he titled "In Reverse."
