One couple at Timberlake's concert at Hayarkon Park on Wednesday was willing to fake a marriage proposal, the Times of Israel reported.
The two Tel Aviv concertgoers, Eliran and Ilana Elgozi, held up a sign that said that if Timberlake joined them for a selfie, Eliran would propose marriage to Ilana. Happy to help, the soulful heartthrob came down from the stage and posed with the couple.
What Timberlake apparently didn't know, is that the couple married two months earlier.
Eliran took to Facebook to explain that from his point of view, the ruse was just his way of telling his wife how much he loves her.
Confessing that he and "his koala" have been married for two months, Eliran said that because his "first marriage proposal wasn't great (to put it lightly)," "I promised myself that one day I would make it up to her." When she surprised him with golden ring tickets to the concert, he found his idea.
In the end, Eliran apologized and said he hoped Timberlake would understand. Thankfully, Justin was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! Humane and real and helped me do it right this time. Much more than I could have expected. The truth is," he added. "I feel pretty bad about it."
If Justin sees this post, I want to apologize if I hurt you," he wrote. "And I hope, in fact I am pretty sure, that as a fresh groom yourself you understand how important it was to me to make my wonderful wife happy."
"I'm sorry if someone got hurt," he concluded. "Keep on loving."
