Do photographers make good models? Daniel Tchetchik launched the Haaretz photo blog “Hasifa” (Exposure) a year ago, and the hundreds of images posted there since have attracted massive viewing online. To commemorate the anniversary, he and Moran Shoub organized an exhibition of the works of 25 of those photographers. Called “Traffic,” it opens next week. He also invited them to sit for portraits in his studio.
Featured here, with examples of their work, are seven of the photographers’ portraits, in some of which they look away, and in others stare straight into the lens. Each responded to being the center of attention differently. “In the studio,” says Tchetchik, “many photographers were self-aware yet strangely confident. Many didn’t even ask to see the results.” “Traffic” opens at the Jaffa Art Salon on July 3.
