Rock singer Aviv Geffen received loud applause on Wednesday night when he called for the resignation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during a concert in Tel Aviv.

"What we see in Israel these days disgusts me," Geffen told the crowd of thousands gathered at Hangar 11 in Tel Aviv toward the end of the concert. "From a wonderful place, Israel has become a place of corruption. We have raised a tyrant named Bibi Netanyahu who does whatever he wants."

"My heart is with both the right and the left – we deserve a real leader and not a person who is paranoid and agitated."

"Israel can't be run by a prime minister who is under investigation," Geffen continued. "The corruption in Israel starts at the top. I call on Bibi Netanyahu: If you are really a man, resign. Be honest with your nation, because you are a very, very dishonest person. My generation and I deserve a different place than this."

It wasn't the first time that Geffen had used a big performance to express his rage at the prime minister. He made a similar statement at a concert two years ago. "Netanyahu has sold out Israel" he said at the time. "He doesn't give a damn; he has left half of Israel under the poverty line."
