Teenage Israeli actress Odeya Rush has gone from acting alongside Meryl Streep and Jeff Bridges to landing a lead role in a new film starring Jack Black, entertainment news site The Wrap reported.
Rush and Black will star in an adaptation of "Goosebumps," a series of scary children's novels by American author R. L. Stine.
Black has signed on to play Mr. Shivers, an author forced to hide from his own scary creations, while the 16-year-old Rush will play his monster-fighting niece, according to The Wrap. The film is being directed by Rob Letterman.
Rush recently wrapped filming on The Giver, a sci-fi film adapted from a 1993 book of the same name that stars award-winning actors Streep and Bridges.
In the last couple of years, she has also acted in the Disney film The Odd Life of Timothy Green and We Are What We Are, which screened at the Sundance and Cannes film festivals last year.
The Wrap reports Rush is attached to play Jesus' mother, Mary, in a forthcoming biblical movie slated to co-star Ben Kingsley and Julia Ormond.
