U.S. Tech Giant Safra Catz Praises Israel as 'A Wonderful Place to Invest In'

Israeli-born Catz says Trump's tax reform plan 'is leading to good results, more investment in the U.S.'

Safra Catz speaks during a Bloomberg Television interview at the Oracle OpenWorld 2016 conference in San Francisco, California, U.S., September 20, 2016.

Safra Catz, the Israeli-born CEO of Oracle Corporation, had high praise for Israel in comments she made after arriving in the country on a personal visit.

“Israel is a wonderful place to invest in. We are enlarging our [Israeli] development center significantly. For us, inventing here is investing in innovation. We also do it with startups, and we will begin the new startup program cycle, but I also see innovation among our clients, for example one of the local [Israeli] banks that I met with,” she said.

“I don’t want to insult other countries, but there is no country like Israel.” Catz said she was meeting with an Israeli company during her visit and added: “The best people in technology are here.”

In response to a question about U.S. President Donald Trump’s tax reform plan, which has been a matter of great interest on the global business scene, Catz said: “His reform is leading to good results, more investment in the United States,” she said, noting that she had spoken to Trump about her conversations with her fellow CEOs.”
