Competition this winter between airlines operating from of Ben-Gurion Airport is heating up thanks to Israel’s new Open Skies pact with the EU.

No less than 14 routes will be covered simultaneously by three or more airlines, according to the Civil Aviation Authority. These include flights between Tel Aviv and New York, Paris, London, Rome, Milan, Barcelona, Munich, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Amsterdam, Bucharest, Geneva and Larnaca.
Foreign operators will supply a total of 63 weekly low-cost flights from Ben-Gurion International Airport, up from 38 last year.
