Taboola, founded by Adam Singolda, is one of the leading content marketing companies. Its competitors include Israeli company Outbrain. The companies have been conducting initial talks about a merger.
Taboola termed its agreement with Microsoft as “strategic.” Taboola’s content suggestions are tailored to users.
Until now, MSN had offered its own content suggestions to users.
Taboola’s service enables websites to offer readers links to related articles from their own websites as well as from other publishers. It currently offers 300 billion suggestions to some 750 million unique users a month. Its business partners include USA Today, Business Insider and the Chicago Tribune.
