Tara Dairy Recalling Some 1-liter Milk Cartons From Israeli Shelves

The affected product includes 1% and 3% milk. Spoiled milk has been found in cartons with expiration dates of February 16, 17 and 19.

The Tara dairy announced last week that it was recalling a small portion of its one-liter cartons of milk because the contents had spoiled, even though they had not passed their expiration date. The affected product includes 1% and 3% milk. Spoiled milk has been found in cartons with expiration dates of February 16, 17 and 19.

Tara specializes in milk products for the ultra-Orthodox community and all of the affected products are marked “Lemehadrin,” meaning they meet the strictest standards of kashrut supervision.

The company said consumers who have purchased milk subject to the recall can return it to the store where they purchased it. They can also call the company’s consumer hotline at 1-800-777-333. “Tara has informed the Health Ministry of the problem,” the company said in a statement, “and is working in coordination with [the ministry].”
