Avi Bar-Eli is stepping down as editor of TheMarker after three years on the job. Sivan Klingbail, now labor reporter, will take his place, with Rotem Starkman returning to the position of deputy editor.
Bar-Eli, who will assume another role in the Haaretz-TheMarker Group, led TheMarker through three elections, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s indictment and the coronavirus crisis as well as the successful launch of TheMarker’s paywall.
Klingbail has served in a number of positions at TheMarker and Haaretz, including editor of TheMarker Magazine. She created the popular “365 Days” blog.
Starkman served for many years as TheMarker’s capital markets editor and writes a popular weekly interview feature for Markerweek.
