The new service to Gatwick, south of the British capital, will run three times a week — on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. These flights will be added to the British-based discount airline's 11 weekly flights between Tel Aviv and London Luton Airport. EasyJet also flies between Tel Aviv and Manchester. Ticket sales for the new route begin Tuesday, on the carrier’s website and mobile application.
EasyJet announced the Tel Aviv-Gatwick route about two weeks after the airline announced new service three times a week between Tel Aviv and Berlin.
Last month, El Al Israel Airlines revealed its own new low-cost airline division, UP Airlines, which will begin service on March 30 to Berlin, as well as to Budapest, Kiev, Prague and Larnaca, in Cyprus.
EasyJet currently operates flights between Tel Aviv and Geneva, Basel and Rome, in addition to the flights between Tel Aviv and Luton and Manchester.
