Two Palestinians shot dead after attempting to stab soldiers in West Bank were identified by Palestinians as 23-year-old Muhammed Abu Maryam from Jadida, near Jenin, and Sayed Abu Al-Wapu, 38, from the village of Zawiya near the Palestinian town Salfit.
According to Palestinian reports, the two approached the crossing, where food was being distributed, and were shot after being asked to exit their vehicle.
The Israel Defense Forces shot and killed two Palestinian they said attempted to stab them at a cross point in the northern West Bank.
In the early hours of Saturday, the army said that two alleged assailants attempted to stab IDF forces at the Jordan Valley's Hamra (or Beka'ot) checkpoint. The two were initially reported as being wounded, but later succumbed to their wounds; no soldiers were hurt in the attempted attack.
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed for Reuters that two men were dead.
The Israel Defense Forces demolished the home of Muhannad Halabi of the village of Surda near Ramallah who was named as the murderer of Nehemia Lavi, 41, of Jerusalem and Aharon Bennett, 21, of Beitar Illit.
Halabi stabbed the two during the evening of October 3 at Jerusalem's Old City. Halabi was allegedly urged to undertake the attack by an East Jerusalem man, who was indicted for his role in the attack.
