SOUTH LEBANON —The scale of the destruction in the old casbah of a Lebanese Shi'ite village not far from the Israeli border is enormous. Southern Lebanon isn't yet the Gaza Strip. But given the intensity of the fight the army is conducting there in its raids on villages near the border, not many houses are still standing.
