It’s intriguing how things become engraved in the memory. The afternoon of February 21, 1973, in Jerusalem was gray and cold, without rain. That I remember. In the Sinai Peninsula, a sandstorm rendered visibility poor. That I know. A few years later, I served in Sinai and experienced many a sandstorm. I’ve never seen anything like them in Israel itself.
