One day in 2006, when Nurit Shnabel was still a social psychology doctoral student, she picked up three young hitchhikers while driving to Be’er Sheva. When they reached their destination, two of the youths thanked her and left, but the third suddenly moved into the seat beside her and tried to push her out of the car with force.
