Israeli President Extends Wishes for 'Peace, Stability' to Palestinian President Abbas on Eve of Eid al-Fitr
Herzog also spoke with UAE crown prince and Bahrain's king in honor of the holiday, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan

Israeli President Isaac Herzog spoke on Sunday to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas by phone, expressing a home for "peace and stability in the region" on the eve of Eid al-Fitr – the celebration marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan – a statement from the president's office said.
Herzog, the statement added, also spoke with UAE Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed al-Nahyan and the Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in honor of the holiday.
President Herzog is expected to speak with more leaders in the Arab world in coming days.
Over the past month of Ramadan, tensions between Israeli security forces and Palestinians have been especially high, particularly over Ramadan prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The past two months have witnessed a string of Palestinian attacks in Israel and the West Bank that have left 16 dead. At least 27 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli operations in the West Bank, some related to locating suspects behind the terror attacks.
