A 16-year-old Palestinian was shot and killed by Israeli military fire near Jerusalem, the Palestinian Health Ministry and Israel Defense Forces said on Sunday.
According to the IDF, Israeli soldiers operating in the village of Abu Dis identified two suspects throwing firebombs at one of the army positions in the area. Yamin Jaffal was wounded by Israeli fire and later succumbed to his wounds. The second suspect fled the scene.
Last week, a 13-year-old Palestinian was shot and seriously wounded during clashes with the Israeli army in Hebron, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported on Friday.
According to the ministry, three more Palestinians, aged 14, 15, 21, were wounded by live fire. All four were taken to a hospital in Hebron.
In late February, Israeli military forces also shot a 14-year-old Palestinian boy dead near Bethlehem. The Israeli military said in a statement that the teen, Mohammed Shehadeh, was throwing a Molotov cocktail before being shot by soldiers in the West Bank town of al-Khader.
