A man was shot dead on Friday in Jaffa, marking the 13th murder victim in Israel's Arab community this year, according to the Abraham Initiatives NGO, which fosters Arab-Jewish cooperation.

According to police, the 20-year-old man was seriously wounded before being taken to Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, where he succumbed to his wounds.

According to the NGO, 13 Palestinian-Arabs in Israel have died in circumstances related to violence and crime. Two of the victims were women, eight have been shot to death and six were under the age of 30.

In a separate incident on Friday, a man in his 50s was seriously injured by an explosive device rigged to his car in the Arab-majority town of Taibe in northern Israel. Witnesses reported a loud blast outside his family's home.

Police suspect the incident was the result of a long-running feud between families.

In a third incident, a man was wounded by live fire while sitting in a coffee shop in the Arab Israeli town of Kafr Qasem.

In 2021, 126 Israeli-Arab citizens were murdered, 16 of them were women, 105 were men and five were minors. In 2021, police have helped solve only 23 percent of the murders in the Arab Israeli community, compared with 71 percent for the Jewish community.
