Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not seen as a bellicose type. He is cautious in the use of force. When conflict is forced on him, he will seek to end it quickly, without expanding or deepening it. This is what he has done for his 12 continuous years in power. Today, at the most critical point in time for his political and personal future, there are suspicious signs that undercut this perception and that should disturb every Israeli. Senior defense officials, both past and present, are well aware of what is happening and are losing sleep over it.
