Man Tried to Stab Soldiers in the West Bank, Israeli Army Says

The suspect was apprehended after trying to stab soldiers at the Ariel junction, and has been transferred to security services for questioning, IDF statement says

A man who attempted to stab Israeli soldiers in the West Bank settlement of Ariel Sunday afternoon was arrested, the military said.

According to the IDF Spokesperson's Unit, Israeli forces pursued the assailant, who had tried to stab soldiers stationed at Ariel Junction in the southern West Bank.

Soldiers "carried out the procedure of arresting a suspect, which involved live fire, and apprehended him," the statement said.

No soldiers were wounded, the military said, and the suspect has been transferred to security forces for questioning.
