Palestinian Woman Shot Dead After Trying to Stab Policemen, Israel Police Say

The woman approached policemen at the Qalandiyah crossing, wielded a knife and ignored calls to halt, police say

A Palestinian woman was shot to death on Wednesday morning after she tried to stab Israeli policemen at the Qalandiyah crossing in northern Jerusalem, the Israel Police said.

According to police, the woman was walking along a pass designated for vehicles and advanced toward policemen, who called on her to stop. After the woman did not respond to their calls to halt and pulled out a knife, the policemen opened fire, wounding her in her legs.

Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and evaucated the woman to the Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus, where she was declared dead.
