Israel Army Demolishes Home of Israeli Teen's Murderer
Security forces destroy two family apartments of Arafat Irfaiya, who killed and raped 19-year-old Ori Ansbacher in February

Israeli security forces demolished Friday morning two family apartments of Arafat Irfaiya, who admitted to the killing and rape of an Israeli teen in February.
Arafat Irfaiya, a 29-year-old Palestinian resident of the West Bank town of Hebron, was charged by the Jerusalem District prosecutor’s office in March with the killing Ori Ansbacher, 19, in a forest on the edge of Jerusalem. In addition to premeditated brutal murder and rape, Irfaiya is charged with an act of terrorism and illegal entry into Israel.

The Hebron resident was arrested at his home several days after the killing. He implicated himself in the crime and reenacted it for security forces. Israel's Shin Bet security service determined Irfaiya acted out of nationalistic motives.
The Israeli army informed Irfaiya's family that his home would be demolished as a punitive measure. Security forces conducted a survey of the home last month in preparation for the demolition.
Irfaiya has already served two sentences in an Israeli prison for security offenses. In 2009, he was arrested for carrying a knife near the Cave of the Patriarchs and sentenced for three months in prison. In 2017, he was arrested again for carrying a knife and illegal entry into Israel for which he was sentenced to five months in prison.
According to a security official, Irfaiya and his family are affiliated with Hamas.
