Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's eldest son, Yair, will fly out Thursday night with the premier for the official state visit to Brazil that will last until Wednesday.

The Netanyahu family stated that the flight and hospitality expenses for Yair will be paid for by the family.

"All the travel and hospitality expenses for the sons of the prime minister when they join flights in the premier's airplane are paid for out of the pocket of the Netanyahu family. That is how it has always been and that's how it will be with Yair's upcoming trip to Brazil," a statement by the family read.

The prime minister is expected meet with Brazilian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro as well as with Brazil's foreign and defense ministers, and participate in the former's inauguration ceremony. Netanyahu is also slated to meet with the heads of the Jewish communities in Brazil and with the presidents of Honduras and Chile.

Bolsonaro, the far-right leader in Brazil that is home to a strong, Christian- evangelical lobby, has expressed in the past willingness to move his country's embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

Nonetheless, media reports recently claimed that Bolsonaro is under pressure from the Arab world. Therefore, he might decide to recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital without actually moving the Brazilian embassy there, or he might only recognize the Western part of the city as the capital, much like Australia did recently.

Some assessments claim that Netanyahu plans to participate in Bolsonaro's inauguration in order to ensure that the transfer of the Brazilian embassy takes place. So far, only the United States and Guatemala have moved their embassies in Israel there. Paraguay announced that it would take such a step but walked back on that pledge, a development that sparked a serious diplomatic crisis between Asuncion and Jerusalem.
