A 37-year-old Palestinian woman tried to stab on Tuesday Border Policemen at a gas station near the West Bank settlement of Kfar Adumim, the Israel Police said. Police fired at the woman and thwarted the attack.

According to police, the official in charge of security in the area alerted security officials to the fact that a Palestinian woman walked into a food stall in the area and refused to leave the premises.

When security forces arrived at the scene they found the woman, a resident of the West Bank village of Yatta, at the gas station where the incident happened.

The woman pulled out a pair of scissors and ran toward forces while yelling in Arabic. Policemen opened fire, injuring the woman moderately. She was evacuated to the Hadassah University Hospital in Jerusalem to receive medical care.

A similar incident also occurred on Monday when the Israeli army said it thwarted a stabbing attack near the West Bank settlement of Kiryat Arba.

According to the IDF's Spokesperson, a Palestinian man attempted to stab Israeli civilians and an officer before being shot by a soldier at the scene.

The assailant was evacuated to receive medical treatment. No Israeli casualties were reported.

Earlier Tuesday Israel's Shin Bet security service chief Nadav Argaman revealed that despite relative calm in the West Bank, Israeli security forces have thwarted hundreds of terror attacks in the past year.

In the past year, Argaman told the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, "we've thwarted 480 terror attacks, arrested 219 Hamas cells and 590 lone attackers."
