Bon Jovi will perform in Israel next summer in Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv. The planned date for the performance, July 25, 2019, was revealed by accident in a newsletter the American rock band sent to fans.

It will cost some $2.4 million to bring the group to Israel, according to the Channel 12 TV entertainment show “Good Night with Guy Pines.” This will be the second time the band has performed in country. In the summer of 2015, also in the park, it drew some 50,000 fans and an enthusiastic response from critics for its energetic and rousing performance.

Bon Jovi, named after its eponymous founder and front man Jon Bon Jovi, reached the peak of its fame in the 1980s and '90s and is thought to be one of the most profitable bands in the history of the American music industry. Among its greatest hits are “Runaway, “It’s My Life” and “Bed of Roses.”

British singer Ed Sheeran is in advanced negotiations to perform in Israel next summer too, Pines reported. If Sheeran signs the contract, it would likely spell the end of the recent drought in performances by big-name foreign singers in the country.

Sheeran is considered to be the most popular pop star in the world today, with a flood of record views and downloads on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music and others. His hits include “Shape of You” and “Thinking Out Loud,” which earned him two Grammy awards in 2016.
