According to security guards who were standing at the checkpoint, the man was shot after he ran toward them in a suspicious manner. No weapons were found on the man, however, and the event is being examined.

Meanwhile, clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces erupted in Nabi Saleh in the West Bank. According to the ministry of health in Ramallah, three demonstrators were wounded by live ammunition in the legs and evacuated to a nearby hospital in moderate condition.
