Netanyahu Urges World to Demand That Palestinians Stop Paying Terrorists' Families

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday urged the international community to demand that the Palestinian Authority stop paying families of terrorists.

Speaking at a cabinet meeting, Netanyahu blasted the Palestinian Authority, saying that not only does it refuse to condemn the terror attack that killed a border policewoman in Jerusalem on Friday, but is also planning to pay the three assailants' families.

"I urge the international community to condemn the murder and those who praise it, and demand an immediate halt to the payments of the Palestinian Authority to the families of terrorists, which only encourages terror," Netanyahu said.

On Saturday night, thousands attended the funeral of Hadas Malka, the border policewoman who was killed the attack in Jerusalem a day before.

The attack unfolded in Jerusalem's Old City when three Palestinian assailants armed with guns and knives attacked security forces. Malka was stabbed by one of the assailants while trying to reach for her gun. All three attackers were shot dead by officers at the scene.

The attack, which took place near Damascus Gate, was claimed by both ISIS and Hamas, but the Israeli army said it was carried out by a local cell.

Following the attack, Israel revoked permits allowing Palestinians from the West Bank to visit Israel for Ramadan.

On Saturday, a closure was imposed on Deir Abu-Mash'al, the West Bank village the terrorists came from, and the families of the attackers have had their work permits in Israel rescinded.
